If you attended the Learning Technologies Conference in January, you heard Dr Itiel Dror open the second day with: Designing e-learning? Don’t leave your brain at home!, and you know what a great speaker he is.
Dr Dror is running a one-day workshop in London on 17 June:
Building e-learning with the brain in mind.
Here’s the good news: we’ve arranged with Dr Dror that Learning and Skills Group members will receive a 20% discount on the £495 cost of the workshop, meaning you pay just £396.
Are you a member of the Learning and Skills Group?
If you attended the January conference you are automatically a member. You should have already received an e-mail with both details of the workshop, and the code you need to ensure your discount. (If you attended the conference and haven’t got the mail, please mail me on donaldt ~ learningtechnologies ~ co ~ uk.)
What’s in the workshop?
Based on longer events that Dr Dror has run internally for a range of private and public sector organisations, the workshop covers:
- the basics of how the mind learns
- how to design e-learning to make best use of the ways the brain naturally learns
- how to deliver these learning materials using technology, for effective learning
Best of all, also speaking will be Tamas Makany, who ran the very well-received final cafe session at April’s Learning and Skills Group Conference: The role of the brain in learning with technology.
I attended a Dr Dror workshops in February 2007, and it was great fun and extremely informative. See the blog entry for details of my reaction and others’.
One thing I like about Dr Dror’s events is the amount of material around it: there’s optional reading beforehand and afterwards there’s a substantial chunk of reading in the form of a bound volume containing all the presentations used, and additional articles and papers.
Numbers for the workshop are limited, so if you’re interested, consider booking now to ensure your place.
