Wednesday’s conference was something new.
The agenda was set by the delegates to January’s Learning Technologies Conference, and the breadth of what people wanted to cover meant that at any one time we had 6 sessions running. I aimed to build interactivity into each session, and – reading the evaluation forms – that was generally very successful.
The interactivity was helped by having this conference so soon after January’s. It was also boosted by the small group work, and I’m pleased to say that it looks as if many of the Interest and Sector groups will be continuing after the conference, with support from the Learning and Skills Group.
Although it was a piece of work to prepare the conference, the real work starts now. It isn’t difficult these days to set up an online network. The real trick is the detail: helping individuals with common interests find and work with each other. Our focus for the next few months will be just this, creating and sustaining the links between group members that have begun to flourish.
It’s an exciting time – expect more announcements here soon.
